A World of Our Own
In the TZ episode we were watching on Wednesday, the author was able to bring any character of his to life just by describing them. There are a handful of wonderful literary characters that I would love to be able to bring to life. It would be fascinating to have conversations with them. So, for your second topic this week, choose one character from fiction (could be a novel, short story, movie, etc) that you would bring to life. Tell why you chose that character and also what kind of things you would talk to them about/ask them.
Hmmmm. I would pick Niko Bellic. Do I need to say anymore??? Jk
I would really pick Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen(the comic, not movie although both good). He seemed to know what was best for the world. I would also pick Rorschach. He has a strong sense of justice that the world needs. His psychology that the comic provides is astounding. He has a reason for everything and you know what’s going on in his head, no matter how terrible they are. Alan Moore did an amazing job with these characters.
And for those of you who didn’t like the movie, you most likely went in it expecting a super action film, but it was actually a story that somewhat went into the minds of the superheroes and shows the extent that people will go for “justice” and corruption of power. Like how Rorschach goes crazy when the law banning vilgilantes passes and how Ozmandias….I’m not ruining the story. But it’s a great movie and a better comic. Check it out and expect a drama film, not an action
i would with out a doubt bring the fairly odd parents to life. They grant your every wish! That would pretty much be like having any superpower you ever wanted, and having anything you wanted. You cant get any better than that. If i wanted to bring any other character to life, i just wish away, and BAM, that character is alive. And no, i do not watch cartoons, i just saw the show a long time ago.
P.S. EVERYONE, LIL’ WAYNE HAS TO GO TO JAIL FOR A YEAR STARTING IN FEBRUARY FOR GUN ILLEGAL POSSESSION :*(
5 Dr. Carter 5
i would pick chris gardner, the character will smith played as in the Pursuit of Happyness(yes thats how happiness is spelled in the movie). i pick him because that movie was so inspirational to me and he was the main one inspiring me. the way he took care of his child even after his wife left him, lived off 200 dollars for 6 months, and somehow came out of it to be successful after so many letdowns, is just crazy. i would basically just ask him how he did it and all that kind of stuff. that was one of my favorite movies and it was a true story not just a made up one, so it can be done, no matter how hard the task.
btw the only reason im writing this much is cause ive had a really bad afternoon and dont have anything else to do so i might as well write a loong blog thing.

so this topic is really really hard because i have read SOOOO many books. but out of all the characters i have read about i would probably bring bailey flanigan to life from the baxter family drama series by Karen kingsbury. she is my age, a lot like me, a christian girl trying to live in a secular world. she has her boy troubles and her family drives her insane but she loves them anyway. and she also has those few people she looks up to. when i brought her to life i would talk about everything from her boy troubles to how she deals with her family or even her faith.
Well if I were to bring any character to life, it would be Aslan from the Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. He seems like a very unique character. I would ask him questions like, “Why do you carry on with the battles of Narnia instead of going into a forest to live a peaceful life?” I would also talk to him about certain chapters I saw like the sacrifice. Aslan has a Christ-like character to him and that’s why I would choose him.
heavenrox6,
I think that it would be an amazing experience to meet Aslan. The Narnia books do mirror the story of Christ in many ways and it would be very interesting to talk to Aslan about them.
I don’t want to be dumb and say that I want to bring Edward from Twilight to life (although it would kinda cool) so I am going to choose somebody else. I would want to bring Dumbledore to life. He would be full of wisdom and good advice. So he could help me become a better person!

In response to heavenrox6:
Dude! that would be an awesome charectar to bring to life!! But it might be a little weird walking around town with a full-grown male lion Haha
if i had to pick someone else though, it would probably be Spongebob. Why would you not want to hang out with Spongebob?? Haha, but i think he would be fun to roam around and get into random shannanagins with. And i would probably ask Spongebob which gender he was attracted to. Just sayin… i mean we’ve all seen the way he acts on tv sometimes, right?
Im not to sure who I would talk too. However Orson Scott Card is my favorite writer. So I think I would choose Bean from The series enderverse which is a saga of ender and then a saga of bean. I would ask him how he felt in certain scenes the books, and his regrets. It would be cool to meet someone so great as him.
I would choose House for this one. Just because I have never seen anyone else, real or fake, like him. He is just really brilliant but needs help too. I would love to ask him about his life when he was younger, and his current views on life. I know I could learn alot from him. I think hanging around him would make me a smarter, wiser person because alot of things he says on the show makes me see things differently. Also, I think his sarcasm is really hilarious, so I would be learning and laughing at the same time.
If i were to bring a character from a movie or book alive i would chose Jeanie from I Dream Of Jeanie. I would do this because i can have as many wishes come true and take them back too. I loved watching all those fun adventures her and Captin Nelson would have. I would ask her to do so much for me i would bring her to school, so i could have help if i need it. i would ask her to clean my room and alot of other things too. But i dont know if i would say that much to her just ask for wishes. and i love how she makes the wishes come true. too bad Jeanie cant come to life
I think id bring V from v for vendetta to life( the graphic novel not the movie). america could use him- and im half in love with him anyway. and the whole gy fawkes things amazing. i just want to talk to him, really.
girlsnotgrey-
i would love to talk to rorshack. hes an amazing character. ive never read the comics but i really loved the movie.
This is kind of a hard topic to do because there is sooo many choices!!!! haha I would probably have to agree with Dr. Carter 5 and bring the fairly odd parents to life. I mean, doesn’t everybody in their life want somebody to make their wishes come true???!! It would just be amazing to just have someone there behind you and you coul ask them anything and they could make it come true!! Your life would just be soo much fun, but you would also have to be careful for what you wish for. I would just think that it would be the best life ever!!
5 Dr. Carter 5-
i agree with you on chosing the fairly odd parents! i would definately wanna bring them to life, because after that you could do anything you would want! and you could even bring other characters to life, just like you said. that would really be amazing. and dont worry, Lil’ Wayne will surely get some good songs out of his time in prison, just life every other rapper! haha.

heavenrox6,
I agree with you! I would love to bring Aslan to life. I would like to tell Aslan,”Wow! I wouldn’t have had the courage to die like that.” Also, I would ask him,”Why did you choose death instead of life?” I like that C.S. Lewis made Aslan like Jesus and wrote about how Jesus (Aslan) died for our sins. Aslan is the kind of character, I would talk to for hours.

Well, this was not an easy topic for me to write about. There’s a lot of characters I wish I could bring to life. But I decided to pick the Joker. I’d choose him because of how crazy and physco(?) he is. Maybe if I met him, I would think my mother is a little less crazy. I’d probably ask him what his childhood was like and see if I could try to tell what made him the way he is.
-elraha6
okay, so no, i’m not a ‘Twilght Freak’ but I have to say that the books are probably some of my favorite that I’ve read so far. One of my favorite characters from the Twilight series is Alice Cullen. She’s described as bubbly, optimistic, and she can see the future. She actually seems like an everyday average girl (besides being able to see the future and being a vampire). She loves to shop and to just have fun. She’s different from all the other characters in the series and probably one of the most outgoing character too. If I were to bring her to life, I think it would be cool to ask her what are some of things that are going to happen in my future, and also, to have the experience to just hang out with her.
(The books are WAY better than the movie.)
-dance336
so this is also really hard for me because ive read so many books. but my alltime favorite 2 characters are Max and Fang from the Maximum Ride series. i would talk to them about all their journeys and especially about their time spent in the school.
i would also love to talk to eragon. just to understand fully the cost of having thr whole worlds problems laid on his shoulders. plus i would want to knnow how his transformation changed how thought about fighting Galbatorix. plus i just really love those books and would want to talk to Saphira too.
jugaralbeisbol5
total, from the maximum ride novels. a hard choice, but in the end, having a talkng dog would be alot more fun than any other character. plus hes funny and always has a good attitude. i would probably get him to start talking about the kinds of reactions he gets when he starts talking around people that didnt know he could talk.
5 Dr. Carter 5-
I totally agree with the fairly odd parents! It would be so cool to wish anything and have it come true. Plus, if you brought them to life, they would keep you entertained. They are so funny. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen that show.
If i had to bring a character to life it would be Hercules. He is so strong and can probably tach me a few moves. That would be awsome. He could also teach me the tricks on how to defeat evil. Now who doest want to defeat evil. Plus he is a greek god.
I like what heavenrox6 said, i would have never thought about bringing an animal to life. Narnia is a really cool series and Aslan is pretty much a beast. So i think its pretty much good choices all around. Aslan seems to have everything figured out and i think it would be really interesting to bring him into modern times.
i agree with 5 dr. carter 5. i too would bring the fairly odd parents to life. sometimes i feel overwhelmed! n i just want to escaped to a land of paradise n get away 4rm all my troubles!! so i would wish 4 them to send me to a beach across the ocean where its sunny all day n its just all about me!! such a delight!

I think if I could bring one character to life, I’d pick the Scientist from the Jim Henson movie The Dark Crystal. Despite being a villain, he’s a very intesting character and my favorite out of the nine. You never quite know what he’s thinking throughout the movie and book. His left side is totally normal, but he right is a mess. This guy replaced his right arm and leg with metal ones, has tubing replacing some of his circulatory system, and a creepy as all get out, piercing monocle-like eye. He’s got a rasping voice and always has this unnerving grin on his face. His job is to steal prisoners’ life force by shining a beam of light into their eyes. (This is coming from the mind of the man who made Kermit the Frog)The Scientist isn’t someone you want to meet in a dark alley somewhere.
My fist questions to him would be “How did manage to come up with that machine?!” and “So, how’d it feel getting p’wnd by cute fuzzy animals and then falling into a pit of lava?” or, when he’s getting WAY too close to one of the main characters, “Do you have any idea of what personal space is?” But on a more serious note, I’d want to know why he took the job he’s got and what his motivation is. Does he want knowlege about the world around him or is he some crazy old bird?
I would bring to life Harry Potter and his wand. They have to come together or I don’t want either one of them. He can do anyyhing he wants without his wand. Which is the main reason why i would bring him to life. All of the wizards and witches can do whatever they want. Get away wit murder, fast food, etc. Ofcourse if he gets in any kind of trouble I’m sending his but back in the book. I aint tryin 2 get kilt.
On the otherhand who cares abt Harry Potty anyway. All i want is the wand.
I would bring JACOB BLACK (taylor lautner) to life. He’s the werewolf off TWILIGHT… for those who didn’t know who that was =) I would ask him, one, to marry me (j/k). I would ask something along the lines of,”are you a shape shifter, or a real werewolf because I hear arguments about that all the time?”
people debate whether Jacob is a shape shifter or a werewolf. I never really thought about it, but that would be a question I would ask. I chose Jacob Black because I like his character in the TWILGHT series of novels. For the people who have read all the books, you know that in the second, third, and fourth books, BELLA pretty much broke his heart by choosing EDWARD. EDWARD was JACOB’s enemy before BELLA had ever met him. it was because EDWARD was a vampire, JACOB was a “werewolf”, or a shapeshifter. when BELLA married EDWARD, JACOB was really hurt. In some ways, I, and other people I know, can relate to that feeling, or just that situation. Most likely, not the marrying part, but the whole someone chosing another person over you situation. The feeling of being hurt and sad. I would ask him why he loved BELLA so much, and why he disliked the vampires. until the end of the last book of course. I would talk to him about his character as a whole. I just think his part in the stories is fascinating. so yeah, I would choose JACOB BLACK (taylor lautner) to come to life…

Although I love books, if I could bring any character to life, it would totally be Shaggy from Scooby Doo. Why? I don’t really know. He’s just the kind of person who needs to be real. I really liked how he was portrayed in the newest Scooby movie, even though the movie itself was totally lame. I so would not want to meet the original Shaggy who I’m 69% sure isn’t as innocent as he seems to be. Questions I would ask him would all be along the lines of “Will you marry me?” and stuff like that.
an incurable Shaggy lover

If I could bring any chracter to life it would have to be…
The anonymous writer of the book Go Ask Alice. It is a diary of a girl who pretty much had the perfect life, got addicted to drugs, ended up running away from home, and died a few years later. The diary was then published for the rest of the world to read. It is without a doubt one of the best books I’ve ever read in my life. It is so inspiring, not because of the fact that she was addicted to drugs or ran away, but because of the fact that she set her mind to do something, and she did it. There were many times in the book where she set out to get somewhere, or do a certain thing, and she did. The way she did everything in the book just amazes me every time I read it. She was such a strong individual, and though I would never choose to get hooked on drugs or end up like she did, I would still love to be as strong of a person as she was. If I had the chance to have a conversation with her, I would probably ask her how she kept faith through it all, and how she managed to keep going despite all of what she had been through. I know it’s probably not the type of character that the rest of you would pick, but just the way she handled herself and stuck by what she believed in was really inspiring, and I respect that.
If you haven’t read the book, I highly recommend it to anyone. Because no matter where we are in life, there will be at least one thing in the book that we can relate to.
I believe I would bring Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Joker, The Ventriloquist, Penguin, The Mad Hatter, Deever and Dumphrey Tweed (Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum) Batman, and Robin.
They’re all from the batman comics and animated series of the 90’s (((:
We’d have a tea party.
It would be pretty awesome to meet everyone together, because I picked out the most strange and eccentric of all of the villains. We would have plenty to talk about:
Harley Quinn and the Joker are an item; Two-face and Poison Ivy were engaged (before Harvey Dent became Two-Face, and before he discovered that she,Pamela Lillian Isley, was Poisin Ivy); Robin and Poison Ivy are always crushing on eachother; Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are best friends; Batman and Catwoman are secretly in love; Batman basically flirts with all of his female villains, because he’s a big player.
I’m a huge batman nerd.

I’m with you Dr. Carter 5 !
Aladin, Cinderella, Fairly Odd Parents, it’s been a popular idea.
When I was a kid, I always wished I could have fairy god parents.
It’s kinda of sad, though, too. Kids start to think that if they just hope and hope and hope, then they’ll just get whatever they want handed right to them. Santa Clause, Easter Bunny, and Tooth-Fairy is the same concept. Kids are encouraged to believe in magic. And, They really and truly do. I personally, definately believe that magic is something worth believing in. But, sometimes, it’s just sure to be disapointing.
I wonder if it’s ever worth the disaponitment.

5 Dr. Carter 5: Hahaha. the fairly odd parents would be really could to bring to life. that would be soo hilarious.
The one character I would bring to life would be Lucy Liu’s character from the movie Watching the Detectives. In the movie, her character is such a carefree spirit who doesn’t really have a care in the world.
This kind of question changes with the mood your in and everything. I picked this character because of the things I am going through, and personally this is a refreshing character to have in my life right now. I would ask her to like take me away and teach me to think her way, you know. I would just want her to show me how to have a good time and not have a care in the world at all. I would ask her for all kinds of advice on things too.

Wow.. If i could bring ANY fictional character to life.. I guess it would have to be Superman. That guy is just too cool! I think it would be amazing to go flying with him (at night of course so no one could see us and so Lois would never find out.. haha). I would talk to him about how hard it is pretending to be someone he really isn’t and hiding a secret that big from just about everyone. I would ask him if he had any regrets about his decisions and if he could redo his life, if he would change anything and why.. Then I would go fly with him again!

ps the “super” part of my name is totally just a coincidence! haha

im just trying to get my comment in for this week so dont think to much into this. but i would say aslans cool and all but why would u want a full grown talking lion in ur room or wherever? y not just get like lucy or someone who want scare the crap out of the neighbors or eat u out of house and home.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is such a hard question…. i have read so many books and love so many characters…… (if you dont believe that let me just say that i run out of stuff to read in book stores and libraries… really!!!!!!!!!!!) ummm…….. i think if i had to choose only one character out of ALL the fiction i have read my head would explode so im just going to pick from books i have read since school started… (that totaly narrows it down to about 25) ummm…… i think i would have to choose ….. James Stark a.k.a stark… he is in the hose of night books… i think i would choose him, one because he is hot in my mind and two because he has a special talent… not going to tell you what it is you have to read the books…. and three because he is a vampire……
…. i think i would ask him if being talented is a gift or a curse… (if i didnt choose him i would choose Zoe from the same books and ask about imprinting (again you have to read the books…) and bllod lust…)
